João Pessoa
João Pessoa is the capital of the state of Paraíba, Brazil, founded in 1585, which is sometimes called the city where the sun rises first, since it is the easternmost city in the Americas of the entire American continent.
The easternmost point is known as Ponta do Seixas.
The city is considered "the second greenest in the world", and has more than 7 square kilometers of forest, the second in the world, after Paris in France.
The city is characterized by the juxtaposition of tropical beaches, modern architecture and historic buildings from the colonial period.
The city is one of the oldest in the northeast of the country. Theaters, auditoriums and convention centers are part of the infrastructure available in the city.
The new Science, Culture and Arts Station located at the easternmost point of the Americas (Ponta das Seixas) is both an educational and cultural institution as well as a national framework.

Tourism
The beaches in the area are sunny all the time because there is a law prohibiting the construction of tall buildings on the coast.
João Pessoa has huge parks and avenues surrounded by ornamental trees. The city also has beautiful beaches, along 138 km, whose water is warm, its sand is white and being covered by palm trees.
Among the most popular beaches, it is possible to mention, a Barra de Mamanguape, Campina, Oiteiro, Bonsucesso, Ponta de Matos, Formosa, Areia Dourada, Camboinha, Poco Outra, Ponta de Campina, Mar dos Macacos, Bessa, Manaíra, Tambaú, Cabo Branco, Sol, Barra do Gramame, Areia Vermelha e Picãozinho.
These 20 km long beaches are pleasantly clean, unobtrusive without buildings above four floors.
The historic center, 7 km inland, is constantly adorned after being declared National Heritage in 2007, and becomes an interesting tour.
All in all, João Pessoa is a very good place to spend good moments of relaxation and fun.

Gastronomy
Green beans, Rubacão, Buchada de bode, Tapioca. These are some of the typical foods of the northeastern region of Brazil and that can be found in profusion by the bars and restaurants of João Pessoa. For people who are not accustomed to regional foods, at first both taste and smell may scare a little, but the taste is certainly unparalleled, especially for those who like to vary the cuisine. Of course, for the adepts of the traditional there are restaurants that serve from salads to typical gaucho rotisseries, including the famous caipirinha made with some of the best spirits of the country, made in Paraíba and also coconut water.
Weather
João Pessoa has a typically tropical climate, with warm water and high temperatures and high relative humidity throughout the year.
However, these conditions are relieved by a near absence of extreme temperatures and pleasant winds that blow from the ocean.
The rain is strong at about 1,800 millimeters per year, although there is a fairly dry period from October to January.
The rainiest months are from April to July, when the moist southeast winds are stronger and are exalted by the escarpment.
